Dan and Heather

Dan and Heather met in Bible College in 1987 in Greenville, SC. They have been married for 37 years and have seven children. Dan has pastored various churches through the years along with conducting a ministry to former inmates. Dan also served as Chairman of the Board with African Christian University - USA for nearly 10 years.

They both enjoy showing hospitality and ministering to those in need. In 2015, they purchased a home in Kansas City to minister to those coming out of prison. That same year, they started Lighthouse Christian Ministries and Scriptoriums.com.

Dan and Heather both professed Christ years before they were truly born-again. They fell into the trap so many in the churches do: they believed what they were taught rather than examining everything in light of God's Word. They both have a passion for making the truth of Christ known and for showing mercy to those in need.

After spending 13 years in Kansas City, they moved to Conway, Arkansas, in 2021.

Our Family

Dan and Heather raised seven children. Heather sacrificed a medical career to be a stay-at-home mom and homeschool all seven children. Dan often worked a full-time job while pastoring a church to provide for his family. In addition, ministry as a family was also very important.

Often, having guests over, including those recently released from prison, was one way our entire family sought to serve the Lord together. They were all actively involved in the churches Dan pastored through evangelism, hospitality, music, and serving the congregation's needs.

Move to Arkansas

In 2021, Dan, Heather, Ellia, and Faith moved to Conway, Arkansas. They continue to minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all the Lord brings into their lives. They recently got involved in an established ministry in Conway to care for the homeless and those in need.

In addition, Dan has recently launched a new podcast, "Searching for Truth," to encourage the saints to dig deep into God's Word to uncover the hidden treasures God has for His children. Far too often, those in American churches would rather believe what their teachers feed them than search the Scriptures daily to see if what they are hearing is true (Acts 17:11).

Personal Testimony

I was raised Roman Catholic, became a Baptist, got a B.A. in Bible, began pastoring a church, and then---by God's grace, I became a Christian! The grace of God is truly is amazing. After 13 years of thinking I was a Christian, by the power of the Holy Spirit, and the Word of God, I was born again.

I was taught "easy-believism" for years. While attending an independent Baptist church in 1979, I "walked down the aisle" and professed faith in Christ. Sadly, the true message of the Gospel and the cost of following Christ were never explained. I continued for 13 years convinced I was a Christian.

In December 1992, while studying for a sermon, I read Jesus' words in John 8:32, "...and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." I realized at that moment that I was not free from the power of sin in my life. I had never repented.

Since that night, God has been working in my life to conform me to the image of Jesus Christ. I have a long way to go, but I am a new creation in Christ Jesus. I found out very quickly that the words of Jesus were true: "If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you (John 15:20). Despite the opposition that comes from men, I can relate to the words of the songwriter, "Foes may hate and friends disown me, Show thy face and all is bright." There is no greater joy than to suffer for the name of Christ.

Philippians 1:29 - For it has been granted (gifted) to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake...
